Every shelf and drawer gets an address

Before anything can be found, every place needs a name. The grammar:

  • Rooms get one letter: L for the Lab, S for the Study, D for the Darkroom, P for the Passage, and W for the WC. The two lofts are M1 and M2.
  • Fixed storage units take the next letter in their room: LA is the IVAR wall in the Lab.
  • Slots work like a chessboard. Letters go across from the left as you face the unit, and numbers go up from the floor. LA·c3 is bay c, shelf 3.
  • Things that move carry their own number. The four ALEX carts are C1–C4, and a cart’s drawers count up from the floor: C2·3.
  • Gridfinity bins inside a drawer can add grid coordinates when it helps: C2·3/f4.
  • Search accepts lac3, la c3, or LA·c3.

The model now carries 73 of these places as invisible volumes, each with its address, and the cart drawers move with their carts.
